You don't have to justify your body.
crankycritic:
If you’re thin, you don’t have to say ‘but I eat all the time!’/’I have a fast metabolism!’
If you’re fat, you don’t have to say ‘it’s genetic!’/’I’m trying to lose weight!’
You don’t need to explain to anybody why your body is the way it is. Your body is YOUR body, and that’s all the justification you need.

Degrees of Fatness

I absolutely love you all and have no problem with you identifying as fat (as you are fat and it’s hella awesome) but please, for the love of all that is holy, stop acting as if your size 12/14/16 body has the same mental, physical, spatial, and societal issues as my size 32 does. You don’t understand. And it’s fine that you don’t understand! It doesn’t make you...

10 Facts You May Not Know About Asian-American History

It’s almost the end of May. Do you know your Asian-American history?
Most of America isn’t aware that May is Asian-American Heritage Month
zaataronpita: Hello! I was wondering if you would mind speaking on your experience acting in But I'm a Cheerleader? Thank you!
Dante Basco: You really are a fan, that’s a classic. For those of you that don’t know this film, “But I’m a Cheerleader,” is a gay indie cult classic movie, it’s about these kids that go to a camp to learn how to become “straight.” (Its a comedy) I had such a great time shooting that flick. I played a wrestler named Dolf. It was written as this 6 foot tall blond jock and they ended up hiring me. When they were casting, the director asked if I had a problem playing a gay character and I said, “Of course not, I’m an actor.” But I asked her back, why do you want to cast me? Me, knowing what the character description was. Jamie Babbit, the director, said because the character is really just the all american boy next door and that’s you. That really impacted me, because, in a big way, I was the boy next door, but so many times in this industry, people see your race first and categorize by that. The way she was able to see past all that and see the essence of who I was made me totally unable to turn down the part. I had to work with someone like that… and I’ll always work with people like that.
And the cast was just amazing… Natasha Leon, Clea Duvall, Doug Spain, Rupaul, Kip Pardue, Eddie Cibrion, Kathy Moriarty, Kate Town, Joel Michaely and the list goes on… Yeah, it was crazy.
And that was the first time I went to Sundance. There’s nothing more fun then to be at the Sundance Film Festival with a film and especially when everyone is loving it. And Sundance back then was even better then it is now, it was just smaller in a way, felt like less big business and more of what it started out as, more independent.
So I guess I’m rambling… That’s what I have to say about that film… good memories. Thanks for the question. DB

Sometimes even with physical assault, the cops don’t take complaints seriously. Basically if a woman is making the complaint, it will not be taken seriously.
